NarrowForge Commission Ledger

Reconcile sales commissions from Shopify orders and refunds.

NarrowForge Commission Ledger turns the order data already in Shopify into a reproducible, reviewable commission calculation. Merchants define finite rules, assign orders or customers to sales reps, calculate an open period, inspect every entry, add reasoned adjustments and lock the result. It records a paid state but never moves money, runs payroll or changes a locked period in place.

NF / Problem

What problem does this solve?

Spreadsheet commission calculations hide which rule, order and refund produced each amount.

Commission rules change, reps share customers and refunds arrive after a period is approved. Commission Ledger makes the rule version, attribution source, commissionable base, adjustment reason and period state visible so the merchant can reconcile the result before paying anyone.

NF / How it works

4 steps, no platform.

  1. 01Set up the teamCreate sales reps and define the customer, company, tag or order assignments used by the store.
  2. 02Define finite rulesChoose a base, rate or marginal tier and supported filters; each edit creates an immutable rule version.
  3. 03Calculate a periodImport Shopify orders and refunds, calculate an open period and inspect the order-level entries and totals.
  4. 04Approve and lockAdd reasoned adjustments, approve the period, export the ledger and record paid status without moving money.

NF / Features

What it does.

Only shipped behaviour is marked active. Beta and planned items are labelled honestly.

  • active

    Deterministic money

Use integer money units and basis points so the same inputs and rule version produce the same amount.

  • active

    Versioned commission rules

Keep percentage or marginal-tier rules immutable once used by a period; later edits create a new version.

  • active

    Traceable attribution

Show whether an entry came from a manual order assignment, order tag, company mapping or customer mapping.

  • active

    Locked periods and adjustments

Keep approved periods immutable and record later refunds as signed clawback adjustments in the next open period.

  • active

    Reconciliation and export

Inspect order-by-order entries, rep totals and manual adjustments, then export a CSV ledger for payroll or finance.

NF / FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Does Commission Ledger pay sales reps?

No. It calculates, records and exports the ledger. Marking a period paid records a merchant decision; no money moves and there is no payroll integration.

NarrowForge Commission Ledger
Can a rule change rewrite an old period?

No. A rule edit creates a new version, and a locked period keeps the version and entries used when it was approved.

NarrowForge Commission Ledger
How are refunds handled after a period is locked?

A later refund becomes a signed clawback adjustment in the next open period instead of silently changing the locked history.

NarrowForge Commission Ledger
What Shopify customer information is read?

The app uses customer or company identifiers needed for attribution and does not read customer profile fields such as names, email addresses or phone numbers.
