Reviewing an approval
Read the inbox, open request context and complete one decision through native JSM.

Read the inbox first
Each row keeps the decision-oriented information together:
- request title;
- request type;
- requester;
- age or creation date;
- configured context fields;
- available actions.
Use the request-type filters when the queue contains several kinds of work. The pending count refers to approvals currently visible and answerable for the signed-in user.
Open the details
Choose View to inspect the request details and the configured context. If you need the complete JSM request, choose Open request in JSM. The link uses the native customer-portal route for the current service desk and request, so it remains in the authorised JSM context.
Approve or decline one request
- Review the request and context.
- Choose Approve or Decline.
- Read the confirmation text, which states that this is a real JSM approval decision.
- Confirm the action and wait for the result.
The inbox refreshes after a successful decision. The native JSM approval state is authoritative; Approval Desk does not invent a second status.
If the approval changed elsewhere
Approval Desk re-checks the approval before answering. If someone has already processed it, the app explains that This approval has already been completed. Refresh the inbox to see the latest state rather than retrying an old action.
